Peer Review Policy
The E-Journal of Science and Emerging Technologies (EJSET) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, scientific validity, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts. The journal is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and high scholarly standards throughout the review process.
Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to determine:
- Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope
- Compliance with submission and formatting guidelines
- Adherence to ethical standards
- Acceptable similarity index (plagiarism screening)
Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.
Double-Blind Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to two or more independent expert reviewers with relevant subject expertise.
Under the double-blind system:
- The identities of the authors are concealed from reviewers
- The identities of reviewers are concealed from authors
This ensures impartiality and eliminates bias based on nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, or professional status.
Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
- Originality and novelty of the research
- Scientific and methodological rigor
- Technical accuracy and clarity
- Relevance to emerging technologies and scientific advancement
- Quality of analysis, interpretation, and discussion
- Organization, structure, and academic presentation
Editorial Decisions
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:
- Accept
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions Required
- Reject
Authors receiving revision requests must address reviewer comments systematically and resubmit within the stipulated timeframe. Revised manuscripts may undergo further review if necessary.
The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively and constructively
- Declare any conflicts of interest
- Avoid using unpublished information for personal advantage
- Submit reviews within the agreed timeline
Any breach of review ethics may result in removal from the reviewer panel.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the evaluation process. When a conflict exists, the concerned editor or reviewer will be recused from handling the manuscript.
Publication Ethics Compliance
EJSET adheres to internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines, including standards aligned with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Cases of suspected misconduct, data fabrication, falsification, or ethical violations will be investigated thoroughly and may result in rejection or retraction.
