Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers are the heart of EJSET’s quality. Thank you for giving your time and expertise.

What we ask of reviewers

  • Accept only papers within your expertise, and tell us at once about any conflict of interest.
  • Keep the paper and the review confidential. Do not share it or use its ideas.
  • Return the review by the date in the review request, or tell the editorial office if you need longer.
  • Do not try to identify the authors (the journal uses double-blind review). If you think you know who they are, tell the editor.
  • Do not upload the paper to AI tools or any public service.

What to assess

Originality
Does the paper add something new to the field?
Relevance
Does it fit science, engineering and emerging technologies?
Method
Is the design suitable, the sample or data adequate and the analysis correct?
Results
Do the findings follow from the data? Are tables and figures clear?
Literature
Is recent and relevant work cited? Is anything missing?
Ethics
Is there ethics approval and consent where needed? Any sign of plagiarism or data problems?
Writing
Is it clear enough for readers? Note language issues, but focus on substance.

Your recommendation

End your report with one recommendation: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Give comments for the authors that are specific and courteous and, if needed, confidential comments for the editor.

Recognition

Reviewers who review regularly and well may be invited to join the editorial board. Want to review for EJSET? See Become a Reviewer.
